Give Your Active Dog a Job with the Working Dog Backpack
The Working Dog Backpack is the perfect accessory for any active dog, but especially beneficial for working dog breeds. This durable and adjustable backpack allows your dog to carry their own gear while you walk, hike, or backpack together. Made with high-quality, water-resistant materials, the Working Dog Backpack is built to withstand even the most adventurous canine companions.
Working dog breeds, such as Huskies, German Shepherds, and Labrador Retrievers, were bred for tasks that require strength, stamina, and a willingness to please. A backpack can help to tap into these natural instincts and provide them with a sense of purpose.
Benefits:
- You no longer have to carry their poo bag!!
- Dogs enjoying working
- Reduces boredom
- Help to strengthen your bond with your dog
Features:
- Durable, water-resistant materials
- Adjustable straps
- Padded chest and back panels for comfort
- Reflective trim for increased visibility
- Multiple compartments for storing treats, water, and other essentials
- D-ring for attaching a leash
Here are a few suggestions for use:
Start with a light weight and gradually increase the weight as your dog gets used to wearing the backpack. It is important not to overload the backpack, as this can injure your dog.
A good rule of thumb is to limit the weight to no more than 10% of your dog's body weight.
Make sure the backpack fits snugly but comfortably. A loose backpack can rub and irritate your dog's skin.
Monitor your dog for signs of fatigue or discomfort and take breaks as needed.
By providing your working dog with a backpack, you can give them the physical and mental stimulation they need to stay happy and healthy.
This pack fits Mack nicely at 27kg with the ability to tighten and loosen all straps for additional sizes.
Top Tip:
Once I put it on Mack, I put him in a sit and a drop and make sure that the straps are too tight anywhere around his body. I find that when Mack is in a "sit" his chest broadens the most so it is a good gauge for resizing the straps.
Disclaimer Please check with your vet that you dog is in good health and that using a weighted back pack would not be detrimental to your dog in any way.
