Frequently Asked Questions
What length long line should I get for my dog?
It depends on what you're training. If your dog is just starting recall, the 5m line is easier to manage. For more advanced recall work and open spaces like beaches or fields, the 10m or 15m gives more freedom while you stay in control. The 10m is our most popular all-rounder. If you're not sure, get in touch and I'll help you pick.
Are these long lines suitable for big, strong dogs?
Yes — that's exactly what they're made for. They're designed to withstand the pull of larger breeds like German Shepherds, Labradors and Rottweilers, with a strong clip and durable materials. I've tested them on my own big dog before adding them to the range.
Can I use a long line with a smaller dog?
The 5m and 10m lines work well for smaller dogs too. I'd be more hesitant to recommend the 15m for a small dog, as the extra length can be a bit heavy for them. If you've got a smaller breed, the 5m is usually the best place to start.
Does the long line attach to a collar or a harness?
The strong carabiner clip attaches securely to either a collar or a harness. For recall training and longer lines, I'd recommend clipping to a well-fitted harness — it's more comfortable for your dog and spreads the pressure if they hit the end of the line.
